About Us
My name is Justin Lucht. My family and I run cattle in big country outside Lovell, Wyoming.
My wife, our daughter, and our son — five years old and one year old — live this life every single day. Long days in the saddle. Early mornings. Cattle to check, horses to train, ground to irrigate, and a thousand things on the to-do list that never fully gets done. That's not a complaint. That's just ranching.
We built Cow Boss Ranchwear because the gear that existed wasn't built for the life we were living. Not really. The shirts looked western. But they weren't designed for a world where your phone is your GPS, your camera, your kids' emergency contact, and your business line all in one. Not for a job that keeps you bent over a calf one minute and back in the saddle the next.
So we did what ranchers do when something doesn't work right. We fixed it ourselves.
"The pearl snap pocket hasn't changed in a hundred years. It was designed for a pack of smokes and a folded piece of paper. I lost five iPhones finding that out the hard way."
Five phones. One idea.
We were pushing cattle. Long day, big country, the kind of day where you're moving fast and there's no time to stop. My phone was in my chest pocket like always. Pearl snap, standard issue. Then a cow cut back. My horse made a big move, the pocket couldn't hold, and that was it. Phone hit the ground. Hooves did the rest.
That was iPhone number five.
I'd lost phones in streams. Dropped them off horses. Had them fall out during branding when I was bent over a calf. And every single time I thought the same thing: why hasn't anyone put a zipper on this pocket?
So I drew what I actually needed. Took it to production. Beat it up on the ranch for months. Made changes. Did it again. That's how The Big Sky was born — and that's the standard we hold every Cow Boss shirt to today.
Built for the people who earn their clothes.
This isn't western fashion. This is ranchwear for people who actually ranch. There's a difference. You know it. We know it.
Every shirt we make gets tested on this ranch before it goes anywhere near a storefront. If it can't hold up to a real branding season — double-stitched seams, long tails that stay tucked, pockets that don't fail when it matters — it doesn't make the cut.
We expanded to the women's line because my wife put in the same hours I do and deserved gear that fit and worked the way hers should. We built CowKids because our daughter was already following me around at feeding time and she deserved the same.
Cow Boss is a family brand in every sense. Built by one. Built for all of them.
What We Stand For
Ranch Tested
Every product gets tested in the field before it goes into production. If it doesn't hold up on our ranch, it doesn't go to yours.
No Fake Urgency
We won't tell you there are only 3 left unless there are actually only 3 left. Real ranchers respect straight talk. So do we.
Function First
Good-looking shirts that fall apart or can't keep your phone safe aren't good enough. We build functional first, beautiful second.
Built For The Long Haul
Double stitched seams. Heavy duty hardware. Fabric that moves with you. A season's worth of hard work shouldn't retire a shirt.
Family Brand
Men's. Women's. CowKids. If your whole family lives this life, they all deserve gear that keeps up with them.
Made For Real Work
Not for the rodeo photos. Not for the show pen. For the long days when nobody's watching and the work still has to get done.

We built something better. Come see what a hundred years of not changing anything finally looks like when somebody actually changes it.
